Editor wins award

The Rhode Island Press Association April 26 presented 141 awards to journalists throughout the state for writing, design and photography in its editorial contest for 2018.
Jewish Rhode Island Editor Fran Ostendorf won third place in the news/features columnist category for three of her editor’s column written during 2018. The columns submitted were “Ode to the Sticky Note,” “The Fowl Adventure and other Seder stories,” and “Roots Forged in Steel.”
The Rhode Island Press Association is a nonprofit organization that promotes the interests of newspapers and other publications, and advances journalism standards and educational opportunities, in Rhode Island.
