J-Street RI Hosts "Breaking the Silence"

J Street Rhode Island will be hosting an evening with the group "Breaking the Silence."  American-raised former "lone soldiers" will speak about their experiences in the Palestinian Territories. The speakers were all raised in the US before deciding to move to Israel and enlist in the IDF. They come from Reform, Conservative, and Orthodox backgrounds and served in the Palestinian Territories in the last decade. Through a panel moderated by Professor Ruth Ben-Artzi from Providence College and an audience Q&A, the speakers will share their unique perspective as both American Jews and former Israeli soldiers. This event will be co-sponsored by the New Israel Fund. Dessert reception to follow.
