Jewish Community Day School opens with a ‘clutch of clergy’

Eight members of the clergy from Rhode Island joined the opening assembly at the Jewish Community Day School of Rhode Island in Providence on Tuesday, Sept. 3. At rear are Cantor Brian Mayer, from left, Rabbi Wayne Franklin, Rabbi Richard Perlman, Rabbi Alvan Kaunfer, Rabbi Amy Levin, Rabbi Barry Dolinger, Rabbi Elan Babchuck and Rabbi Andrea Gouze. Each clergy member discussed Rosh Hashanah with a small group of students and then taught them how to blow a shofar.
