Back to school

Twenty-four children returned to the David C. Isenberg Early Childhood Center (ECC) at the Dwares Jewish Community Center Monday.

Following a plan submitted to Rhode Island Department of Human Services, screening including temperature checks takes place each morning with increased safety and sanitizing procedures throughout the building. The playground is disinfected after each use.

"It was so great seeing so many smiling faces as they re-entered school," said Michelle Cicchitelli, senior director, youth & family engagement at the Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island. "Hearing the laughter and seeing the wonder fill our halls again really warms my heart. I'm happy to be back."

The ECC has been closed since early March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
