Celebrating a milestone

Posted

On Wednesday, Feb. 16 the first graders at the Providence Hebrew Day School each received their own siddur. This special event was a milestone as the students’ Hebrew reading is now sophisticated enough for them to use a siddur to daven, and they have also begun to learn Chumash in the text.   The students marched in to music, sang songs about the power of prayer and Torah learning, and received siddurim with their name written on the cover (in the same Hebrew font that a Torah scroll is written) and a special gift bag filled with yummy treats to share with their families.  The students look forward to davening from their siddur every single day!
