CITs make masks to support good cause

Posted

This summer, the counselors-in-training at the Alliance’s J-Camp have been spending time discussing and researching racism, LGBTQ+ rights, understanding anti-Semitism and embracing diversity/anti-oppression. Over the first half of the summer, they made posters celebrating Black LGBTQ+ activists throughout history.

Now, the CITs are decorating reusable masks to raise funds for new books that promote antiracism, LGBTQ+ understanding and acceptance of difference. The masks are $5 each with all proceeds going toward the purchase of books from one of these lists. https://happilyeverelephants.com/home/lgbt-childrens-books  and https://www.theconsciouskid.org/antiracist-childrens-books/ocwn6f4w4mxgnluonozhzdz72q02ph

If you are interested in supporting this effort, contact camp director Aaron Guttin (aguttin@jewishallianceri.org) for more information. Special designs may be available by request.
