Community sends thanks with food

On May 12, the staff of the Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island, together with staff of HG80, were able to provide 115 lunches to show  gratitude to the incredible team at The Miriam Hospital in Providence. The Alliance staff donated funds to provide the lunches from HG80, a Providence food truck that offers nontraditional flavors of tacos, chips and truck-made sodas.

"The staff at the Alliance had been looking for a way to give thanks to front-line workers," said Brian Sullivan, chief brand officer at the Alliance.  "The idea of involving a local business to thank the employees at Miriam Hospital seemed like a win/win—especially considering the impact the current shut down has had on Rhode Island’s small business community."

Josh Berner, owner of HG80, described the project as “Mensches thanking mensches. That’s kind of awesome!”
