David M. Korn, 86

CRANSTON, R.I. – David M. Korn died July 25 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Brenda (Alberts) Korn for 63 years. Born in Providence to the late Lewis and Fannie (Brodsky) Korn, he lived in Cranston for the past 13 years, and prior to that in Providence and Pawtucket.

He was the owner of Safeway Electric Motor Company in Providence. David was an Army veteran. He was a member of Temple Emanu-El, Jewish Historical Society and South Providence Hebrew Free Loan Association.

He was the devoted father of Ruth Sapper and her husband, Ronald, of Boca Raton, Florida; Carolyn Flammey and her husband, Steven, of Framingham, Massachusetts; and Philip Korn of Warwick. He was the dear brother of Leahbelle Chernov of Canton, Massachusetts; Herbert Korn of Lexington, Massachusetts; Gloria Janavitz of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and the late Ruth Berkowitz. He was the loving grandfather of Dr. Harrison and Erin Sapper, Rachel Flammey, and Lindsay Flammey and her fiancé David Furman.
