Esther L. Swartz, 92

WARWICK – Esther L. Swartz died Tuesday, Jan. 14 at Tamarisk. She was the wife of the late Charles Swartz.  Born in Fall River, Mass., a daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Katz) Levine, she was a graduate of B. M. C. Durfee High School in Fall River.  She had lived in East Providence for 35 years, previously living in Providence.

She was a volunteer at the former Jewish Home for the Aged, Jewish Community Center of R.I., and Meals on Wheels. She was a member of Temple Emanu-El in Providence, a board member and volunteer for the National Council of Jewish Women, and was a life member of Hadassah.  She was a board member and volunteer for the Friends of the East Providence Public Library.

She was the mother of Carol Shore and her husband, Stephen, of Ardmore, PA. and Nancy Horowitz and her husband, Richard, of Potomac, MD.; she was the sister of the late Frieda Swartz and Betty Fink.  She was the grandmother of five, and great-grandmother of five.
