Hate-related vandalism in Cranston

Posted

On Monday, May 23, Cranston’s Stebbins Stadium was littered with spray-painted hate, including anti-Muslim and anti-African American words and a swastika. This follows a similar act of anti-Semitic vandalism that took place May 22 in Pawtucket. That incident is being investigated as a hate crime. According to reports, this incident will be treated as a hate crime, too.

A news conference will take place this afternoon, May 25, at 4 p.m. at the stadium, 20 Jordan Ave., Cranston. This is the site of the graffiti. Various leaders from the community will speak about the incident.
