Ruth Eleanor “Ellie” Brown, 80

PENNSYLVANIA – Ruth Eleanor “Ellie” Brown died Monday, January 27, at her home in Redstone Highlands, Murrysville, PA. Born in Providence, daughter of the late Robert and Ida “Irma” (Samuels) Brown.

Prior to living in Pennsylvania, she had lived in Florida and, before that, New Jersey. She was a 1955 graduate of the former Pembroke College, now Brown University. She was an accomplished pianist who travelled extensively and loved animals, bridge and ice skating. She was the mother of Robert R. Brown of Export, PA, Marjorie A. Brown of Blue Bell, PA, and Jacqueline Wolpert and her husband Seth of Harrisburg, PA.; sister of the late Stephen M. Brown. She was a grandmother of six.
