JERUSALEM, ISRAEL. - Shmuel Weinstein died on Aug. 30, 2024, in Jerusalem. He was the husband of Chana, a devoted wife of almost 40 years. He was the son of Gloria Winston and the late James Winston, and the brother of Ted (Denise) Winston and Laura (Rob Bruno) Winston.
Shmuel attended public schools in Providence and then studied at Boston University before graduating from Connecticut College in 1976. While a student in Boston, he became a follower of the beloved Grand Rabbi Levi Yitzhak Horowitz, known as the Bostoner Rebbe. Shmuel and Chana were married by the Bostoner Rebbe in Jerusalem where Shmuel spent his life devoted to the study of the Torah.
Shmuel was the proud father of eight children Moshe Aharon (Leah) Weinstein, Sarah Sasha (Reuven) Reizin, Pinchas David (Rivky) Weinstein, Rivka Rochel (Sruelick) Galitzky, Nechama Miriam (Yitzchak) Kopp, Avigayil (Lipa) Zry, and Esther Leah and Yocheved Weinstein. He was also a loving grandfather of 23 grandchildren. Shmuel is now at peace and buried on the Mount of Olives in his adopted home of Jerusalem.
