Temple offers no dues for 6 months

Following a year and a half of pandemic, Temple Sinai in Cranston is counting on people wanting to reconnect with Judaism and with being a member of a Jewish community. To that end, they are offering free membership for six months from July 2021 to the end of December.

“For many people, the pandemic opened their eyes to how much they need to feel a part of a community and how much they need to connect spiritually," says Rabbi Jeff Goldwasser. "We understand that many people are interested in connecting with a congregation, but it may seem daunting, especially if they've never joined a congregation before.”

The offer of free membership includes tickets to the congregation's High Holy Days services for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. New members are still required to pay tuition for Religious School for their children from the beginning of the school year.

“We are living in a new era," says Goldwasser. "Once upon a time, Jews joined synagogues just because it was ‘what you are supposed to do.’ Those days are over. Jewish families and individuals want to know that being a member is going to improve the quality of their lives.

They want to experience being part of a real community, engaging in real learning, and attending services that are meaningful and fulfilling.”
