'Liga Terezin' screening for Holocaust Remembrance Day

In honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Sandra Bornstein Holocaust Education Center will show the film “Liga Terezin” on Sunday, Jan. 28, at 10 a.m. in the Social Hall of the Dwares Jewish Community Center, 401 Elmgrove Ave., Providence.
The documentary tells the little-known story of a soccer league formed by prisoners interned at the Terezin concentration camp and explores how antisemitism still influences European soccer culture today. With its strong connections to both the past and present, “Liga Terezin” emphasizes the importance of history and remembrance.
Following the film, a discussion with the audience will be moderated by Doug Stark, former museum director for the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport. Coffee and light refreshments will be served.
