CRANSTON, R.I. – Betsy R. Yetra, of Cranston, died peacefully at home May 3. She was the beloved wife of the late Bennett Yetra. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Milton and Cora (Horowitz) Goldsmith, she had lived in Cranston for 60 years, but also maintained a home in Boynton Beach, Fla.

A graduate of Syracuse University, she worked as a social worker, substitute teacher, and upon the death of her husband, Bennett, co-owned and ran the family textile business with her younger brother, Sidney. She was a woman of many talents and interests. She was an accomplished painter, world traveler, enjoyed antiquing, investing and the arts.

Devoted mother of Lynn Yetra and her husband, Ambrose Donovan, of Newton, Mass., Harris Yetra of Cranston and Rick Yetra and his wife, Karen, of Medfield, Mass. Cherished grandmother of Lauren, Bennett, Carrie and Jaime. Dear sister of Estelle Fradin of Cranston, Howard Goldsmith of South Kingston, and the late Sidney Goldsmith.
