Jacob “Jack” Modiano, 86

Cranston, R.I. – Jacob “Jack” Modiano died July 14 at Miriam Hospital, Providence. Born in New Bedford, Mass., a son of the late Joseph and Miriam (Simmons) Modiano, he had lived in Cranston for more than 20 years. He was manager of the former Lad & Lassie Shoes, Providence. 

He was a Korean conflict and World War II Army veteran, receiving six medals. He was a member of Tifereth Israel Congregation and a former member of Temple Torat Yisrael.  He was a graduate of Bryant College and enjoyed playing cards at the Warwick Senior Center. 

Devoted father of Rachelle Modiano of Cranston and Marc Lavik of Warwick. Dear brother of the late Lena Benlifer, Ruth Barash, Rebecca Feld, and Janet Feld. Loving grandfather of Rose.
