Kart racing, axe throwing at upcoming Touro Fraternal open house

The Touro Fraternal Association will hold an open house Oct. 21, replete with kart racing, axe throwing and a "time machine gaming experience" at R1 Indoor Karting, located at 100 Higginson Ave. in Lincoln, R.I.

The event free for Jewish men 18 and older, is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will serve as an introduction for potential members of the association. Also included will be a catered Chinese food buffet provided by Jacky’s Galaxie.

The organization, based in Cranston, is the largest Jewish men’s fraternal organization in the Northeast. Founded in 1917, Touro offers social activities for its members and guests, as well as monthly guest speakers.

The organization gives back to the community through dozens of annual contributions to Jewish and other causes, including by providing significant funding to houses of worship throughout Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts for professional security at High Holiday services.

There is no cost for the open house or the dinner for men ages 18-52, but reservations are required and can be made by calling Touro at 401-785-0066 or emailing info@tourofraternal.org. More information is available about the organization and the open house at tourofraternal.org.
