Lifelong Learning Collaborative

Posted

In the August issue of Jewish Rhode Island, editor Fran Ostendorf has an editorial titled “Learning opportunities are all around us,” and starts the editorial as follows:  “You are never old enough, or wise enough, to stop learning.”

She then goes on to mention opportunities in our Jewish community to learn. However, she never mentions one of the largest lifelong learning programs in Rhode Island, the Lifelong Learning Collaborative.

This is an organization of over 450 members, which presents 20-25 courses each Fall and Spring semester and another 5-10 courses each Winter and Summer session.  Most of these courses take place at Temple Beth-El with others at the RI Philharmonic Music School in East Providence.

Membership is $25 per year, and most of the courses meet for 2 hours each week for 10 weeks and charge $50 tuition. Shorter courses are pro-rated. As a former president of this organization, I highly recommend it.
For anybody interested, you can go to our website at  lifelonglearningcollaborative.org  where you can see the courses offered for this upcoming semester and learn more about the organization.
