New COVID protocols at the JCC

Posted

STARTING MONDAY, DEC. 20: Per Rhode Island State mandate, proof of vaccination or masks are required to enter the Jewish Alliance/Dwares Jewish Community Center on Elmgrove Avenue in Providence.

Upon entry, everyone is asked to stop at the lobby desk to show proof of vaccination. Face coverings for EVERYONE will continue to be required when entering/exiting the building, in the lobbies, and the locker rooms. These areas are frequented by vulnerable populations and children who are not yet eligible for vaccination. Those who are unvaccinated must wear a mask at all times.

The vaccination status of JCC members will be recorded in a database, and there will be additional staff on hand helping as members come in to ensure a smooth, quick process. Members will only need to show proof of vaccination on their first visit. Visitors to the building who are not members, should be prepared to show proof of vaccination upon each visit.

Proof of vaccination includes:
—Your vaccination card
—Screenshots or printouts from the State’s vaccine record look up portal (portal.ri.gov)
—A photo of your vaccination card.

Currently, the state is defining fully vaccinated as two shots of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccination, or one shot of Johnson & Johnson.
