NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. –Norma Shorin, 91 of Scalabrini Villa Nursing Home, died Feb. 22. Born in Memphis, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Max and Ada Feibish. She spent her childhood in Memphis and the Bronx, N.Y. She lived in Great Neck, N.Y., Providence, R.I., and Baca Raton, Fla. She was a woman of many talents. She was a graduate with honors of Hunter College and Columbia Law School. Just after passing the bar exam, she was offered a judgeship. She was a practicing attorney who argued before the Supreme Court of the United States of America. She also worked as an Assistant District Attorney in New York City, Trade Practice Lawyer for Sears Roebuck, and a lawyer for the indigent. She was a concert level pianist and was adept at financial planning and investments as well as crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her two daughters Carol Desforges (John) and Loraine Schwartz (Marty), her two grandchildren Leo and Mary Ann Desforges, and her brother Martin Feibish (Gloria). She will be buried in New York beside her parents.
