Providence College extends transfer deadline for Jewish students

PROVIDENCE – The Jewish-Catholic Theological Exchange Committee (JCTE) at Providence College (PC) in Providence is pleased to note the PC Administration will consider transfer applications on a case-by-case basis from Jewish students interested in making Providence College their new academic home. The deadline for these applications is June 7, with notification by July 8.

Since 2008, the JCTE at Providence College has sought to foster interreligious learning, understanding and friendship between Jews and Christians. The JCTE’s work recalls some of Providence College’s earliest history from the 1920s to the 1940s, when the college enrolled Jewish students who did not feel welcome elsewhere.

“The JCTE has been disturbed in recent weeks by increased antisemitism on many college campuses across the U.S.  We are committed to the practical support of Jewish students, and we hope for the opportunity to welcome new members of the Providence College family,” the JCTE Committee said in a statement.
