A newly formed local chapter of the pro-Jewish gun club “Lox and Loaded,” the result of a partnership between the Rhode Island Coalition for Israel and Coventry’s Midstate Gun Company, is open to new members.
The club, a RICI spokesperson said, is open to any adult “who is pro-Israel and pro-Jewish regardless of religious affiliation.”
To participate, interested individuals must join Lox and Loaded by going to tinyurl.com/loxandloadedri. Benefits of membership, organizers say, include an online community, access to all chapters, a hat or range bag, member discounts, online training, monthly interactive webinars, a digital newsletter and access to members-only trips to Israel.
There is a fee of $18/month or $118/year, and those who join before Oct. 16 will receive a discount for RICI’s annual awards fundraiser by emailing maria@ricoalitionforisrael.org to get the discount code. After joining, participants must complete a discounted Midstate safety course, offered on the first Monday of each month for $99 paid to Midstate.
After joining online and completing the training, members can attend local chapter meetings the third Monday of each month from 6-8 p.m., beginning Nov. 16.
Organizers ask that those with questions email Gayle at operations@loxandloaded.org or Maria at maria@ricoalitionforisrael.org.
In other RICI news, the coalition is seeking volunteers interested in supporting the effort to oppose Providence’s Question 7, which would divest city funds from Israel. To get involved, email kenschneider33@gmail.com.
The coalition is also hosting “What Has Israel Done Lately for the USA?” — a virtual conversation with former ambassador Yoram Ettinger, an expert on U.S.-Israel relations with a focus on what America gains from its relationship with Israel, set for Oct. 18 at 1 p.m. To register, visit tinyurl.com/oct18.
