This month‘s book is “Spinning Silver” by Naomi Novik. A novel of a dark Slavic-inspired reimagining of Rumpelstiltskin. The female characters are all strong in their own way, some strong minded, some quiet but clearly very clever and strategic, some are the take charge type. The male characters on the other hand, for the most part, prove to be rather weak. Some of the themes are dealing with how initial opposites can eventually attract and does one need to be cruel to become rich? Questions to ask yourself while reading are what are your responsibilities to your family? Can coldness and warmth coexist? How important is loyalty to your family?
